Summary: BarrelsWood stands behind the craftsmanship of every Canadian white oak barrel (1.4L to 225L) we cooper. We provide a 30-day return window on unused barrels, a 100% Watertight Swell Guarantee when following our standard water-curing protocol, and tracked delivery across the United States and Canada via USPS and Canada Post.
1. Watertight Swell Guarantee (Curing New Oak Barrels)
All BarrelsWood vessels are handcrafted from natural, air-seasoned Canadian white oak (Quercus alba) without artificial inner glues, epoxy, or chemical liners. Because dry wood contracts slightly during transit, every new barrel must be cured with cold water for 24 to 72 hours prior to filling with wine, spirits, brine, or vinegar so the staves expand tightly against the metal hoops.
- If a barrel continues to seep after completing the 72-hour cold-water curing protocol, contact us via our Contact Us page with photos of the curing process.
- We will promptly guide you through a hoop-set adjustment or ship a replacement barrel or component (spigot/bung) at no product cost to you.
2. 30-Day Return & Exchange Eligibility
- Return Window: You may request a return or exchange within 30 calendar days of delivery.
- Condition Requirement: Returned barrels must be unused (never filled with alcohol, wine, vinegar, or food brine), unaltered, and packed in their original shipping carton with all included accessories (wooden stand, spigot tap, and bung stopper).
- Custom Engraved Items: Barrels customized with our Custom Laser Engraving Service remain fully covered by our structural defect and transit-damage warranty.
3. Refund Processing & U.S. / Canada Shipping
Once your returned barrel is received and inspected, we issue your refund to your original payment method (Stripe Credit/Debit Card, Link, or PayPal) within 3 to 5 business days. All orders ship with full tracking via Canada Post and USPS across all Canadian provinces and U.S. states.
